DPDP Compliance
Auto Guru is committed to respecting your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP), India's comprehensive data protection law. This page explains how we comply with your rights as a data principal under this law.
Scope and Applicability
The DPDP applies to the processing of digital personal data within India. While Auto Guru does not collect personal data through user registration or accounts, we may process limited digital personal data automatically, such as IP addresses, browser types, and usage patterns via analytics tools and cookies for site functionality and improvement. This processing is limited to what is strictly necessary for providing our informational content.

Under the DPDP, you have the following rights as a data principal:
- Right to access your digital personal data we hold about you
- Right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to deletion of your data
- Right to grievance redressal if you believe your rights have been violated
- Right to withdraw consent if you previously provided it
How We Comply
Auto Guru does not maintain a user database or collect personal data for profiling or marketing. We use third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics) that operate under their own privacy policies. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes. We implement technical measures to minimize data retention and ensure data is anonymized where possible.
Data We Process
Under DPDP, the only digital personal data we may process includes:
- IP addresses (anonymized where feasible)
- Browser and device information
- Page visit logs and session duration
- Cookie identifiers for functional purposes
This data is not linked to any identifiable individual and is retained only for 30 days for analytical purposes.
Legal Basis for Processing
Our processing of digital personal data is based on legitimate interest under Section 5(2) of the DPDP, as it is necessary for the proper functioning of our informational website, ensuring security, improving user experience, and complying with legal obligations.
